About PP
Project Project is an artist-run alleyway turned gallery and music space in Omaha, Nebraska. For over a decade, PP has exhibited hundreds of local and national artists and musicians. We believe that a physical space for gathering and experiencing art and music together nurtures community. PP is a space for the poetic, the experimental, and the weird to flourish.
We host a few sound events every month and have art openings every second Friday. We also host peer-led programming and co-produce community events in the in-between.
All openings and events are free or pay-what-you-can. Project Project has no paid staff.
Who We Are
We're a group of Omaha artists and musicians who started carrying the PP torch in the summer of 2025.
An all-volunteer team, we curate exhibitions and shows and co-produce events and programming that reflects the evolving energy of Omaha. We love the Midwest and have all had diverse and meandering paths in the arts. We have no board, are not a non-profit, make no money, and everything we do is out of love.
And we work alongside even more volunteers! LFG Omaha, lfg our community, and lfg all yall who show up.
History & Mission
Started in 2014 by Joel Damon and Josh Powell, Project Project began with a DIY mindset of "saying YES to the region’s exceptional makers and doers as much as possible."
The goal was "for Project Project to be one big experiment in sharing - the giving of time, energy, space, money, etc to artists so they can freely make or do."
Almost immediately, Project Project's walls and floors were covered in industrial OSB board and will remain that way until the world ends. OSB is the real blank canvas, the white cube is a goddamn lie.

After over a decade, Josh stepped away from PP, and when Joel and Kate Damon moved to Berlin in 2025, they passed the PP torch to a small sortof-collective of local artists and musicians.
"Because we didn’t have a goal of being 'like' something, we were free to answer our problems in new ways. Covering the space in OSB cost about 800 bucks and we haven't had to do a thing to it.
Another example on not acting like everything else we see: Project Project doesn’t seek to grow or out-do itself each year like many organizations and businesses. Truly, growth can become your new focus if you let it. In no time you’ll be paying amazing, talented, creative people to spend their days asking some of the least generous (and also most wealthy) turds for money, full time.
Speaking of wealthy turds, just because someone can afford to make a large financial contribution doesn’t mean they should automatically have an equally-large say in what does and doesn’t happen, at least not as unproportionately as they currently do.."

Community and Partnerships
Project Project is dedicated to the Omaha community. We don't have daily open hours, but we are open to hosting peer-led programming and co-producing community events.
PP draws connections between Omaha artists and musicians and the greater Midwest. Culture is weird and the current moment is hostile. Capital reigns supreme and those of us with aspirations of making poetry flounder. Project Project tries to cultivate space and time that reflect the breadth of creativity and expression in Omaha. Reciprocal and beautiful relationships are at the heart of PP as a platform. We can only do so much, but please get in touch with ideas or hopes or dreams.

We're a small team and might be limited by the practical realities of being all volunteers, but please do get in touch. We love you and we love Omaha.
